Femmes Vocales

This women’s chorus consists of enthusiastic singers aged 45-65 who have the motivation and enthusiasm to sing demanding choir works. The choir has a similar age structure as the Symphonic Women's Choir, but the choice of literature is somewhat easier and the rehearsal schedule is lighter. The broad repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to operetta and folk music. The choir sings two classical and one pop programme per year.

On December 18th Christmas carols in the Musikverein in Vienna. Orchestral songs for Robert Schumann will be performed in the summer semester.

In May 2023 concerts with “Songs from the German Romantic Period” were sung. In December the Choir sang two concerts „Abba and the 70s“. Past projects were Gustav Mahler's songs from "Des Knaben Wunderhorn", the “Stabat Mater” by Pergolesi , the “Messe des Pecheurs de Villerville” by Gabriel Fauré and parts from the musical “My Fair Lady”. In January 2020 a concert tour to India was undertaken.

We are particularly looking for mezzosopranos in this choir, but all singers are very welcome. No sight reading test is necessary for this choir, we suggest you come to the choir and rehearse for four weeks. Thereafter a voice check is necessary so that we can determine your exact voice range.

Rehearsals: Wednesday 6 – 7.30 p.m.
